Application Criteria
We're so excited that you're considering applying for the CTE Development Fund. Please carefully review all directions below in order to submit your application correctly.
Step 1
Please complete the "Cover Page" linked on this website and include in your final packet upon submission.
Step 2
In a written statement, please describe how this $1,000 scholarship will help you achieve your CTHJA show goals this year and how your family manages the cost of competitive riding.
Step 3
Applicants must submit a short video (no longer than 5 minutes) as part of their application. Show us how you embody good horsemanship and sportsmanship and tell us how this scholarship will impact your budget for competing this season.

Applicant must be the primary speaker. The video should be uploaded to YouTube/Vimeo/Drive (with a shareable link provided in the application).
Step 4
Applicant must provide one letter of recommendation from a current or previous trainer. Recommendation should specifically address the applicant’s:
A) Commitment to good horsemanship (care, respect for the horse).
B) Demonstrated sportsmanship (attitude toward peers, fairness).
C) Overall character and work ethic.
All money awarded to each recipient will be required to be used for CTHJA related show fees. Scholarship funds may not be used for lease fees, horse purchases, lessons, tack, clothing, or any other item or service not directly related to horse show fees.
